Kindness Counts: Go PACK Go!!

C.S. Lewis once said “Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching”
I firmly believe that Raven Greene is the person that embodies this. For those of you who have followed our story, you may remember the posts about the JMU Duke game where Coach Houston gave Cooper the #5 jersey worn by Raven who now plays for Green Bay. Shortly after, Raven sent Cooper a box of “updated swag” so he could sport a Packers jersey with the #36 on the back. This box of swag made Cooper a Pack fan for life, but most of all made him a Raven Greene fan, because this man, had no dog in this fight. He had no reason to do anything for our kid, but he did. That’s class right there my friends. Our story gets more awesome.

After the NFL schedule came out I saw that Green Bay was coming to play the Ravens in preseason, so I texted Raven to tell him we were going to take Cooper to the game. I asked him if there was any way Cooper could meet him to thank him while he was in town. Raven responded and said he would like to meet Cooper for dinner. The day before the game Coop had a hospital day at Hopkins, which turned out to be the coolest hospital day EVER…(I didn’t even know that was a thing!) because he got to meet Raven afterward.

Raven has set such a wonderful example for Cooper and we are so thankful for their friendship. Cooper thinks Raven is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and I think he’s onto something. This is a person who saw a need and felt called to make a difference because of the position he was in. This is a person who made the choice to spread kindness and do something so meaningful off the field…and for that, we are forever grateful….
